As a company that is pushing industry norms, BioNova® gets a lot of questions regarding our technology. At the end of 2021, we broke ground on a project that will allow these questions to be answered better than ever before. This coming summer, the first Natural Swimming Pool display pool in North America will be up and running, and available for visits.
The display pool will be a rectangle BioPool®, to highlight how the BF4 technology allows an NSP to resemble that of a “traditional” swimming pool. It was constructed with Fox X-Brace® steel walls, and will be waterproofed using PoolHide® PVC membrane. Since it is located at our retail store, we hope that it will help increase public awareness of NSP’s, and get more people talking about them.
On top of the benefits mentioned before, this display pool will allow us to further our understanding of the positive environmental impacts NSP’s have. Once up and running, we will be able to quantify the CO2 removed each summer by an NSP, test nutrient levels present, and collect/analyze the phytoplankton and zooplankton within the pool.
